| ** CLICK ID FOR INFO on why it's an action figure ** my name's April, I like video games - too many to count, so feel free to ask - and the occasional TV show or web series (Panty & Stocking or Red vs Blue, both of which I've watched multiple times and have enjoyed a lot). My main art is drawing, which consists of pencil sketches in my sketch books. Occasionally I use colored pencils or markers - the Crayola kind, nothing special - to color my sketches. An even rarer occurrence is when I draw digitally. I usually scan a sketch and do all the lineart and coloring in GIMP, doing all this with a mouse. Other times, I use my Wacom Bamboo tablet to draw then color. The subject of almost every single drawing I create is people, or a form of people - like mermaids or aliens. I'm still working on anatomy, but I haven't really commited to using references or life drawings. I improved a lot after getting an anatomy book, but I don't read from it daily. I also rarely have a plan for my drawings. I may feel inspiration and roll with it, or have a vague idea, but I don't map out all the details of a drawing. That's probably why I start with one idea and let it turn into something completely different. Sometimes I write stories or do poetry, too. I haven't written a story lately, though I did them constantly some years ago. I took a poetry class in ninth grade, which helped organize my poetry methods, but I haven't used them recently. Photography's another interest of mine. I get the argument that not every teenage girl who takes a black and white picture of a lawn chair makes them an actual photographer - and I'm not gonna exclusively claim that I'm a photographer. It's not my dominant art form though, so things like presentation and color and light haven't really come to mind when I take pictures of nature or whatever. I guess this doesn't really count as photography, but I find great interest in gathering and taking screenshots of things in games I play. Like The Sims, I'm constantly pausing to take a screenshot. Or other various games where I'm watching a cutscene or see a cool environment and just feel the urge to capture it and save them for whenever I might need a screenshot of the sea life surrounding Rapture. |
